Report a phone number.

Some months back my dad sent me an sms asking me to check an sms he just received. The sms stated that he won a prize and wanted him to contact his mobile phone service provider for more details. Obviously the number which sent the sms to my dad was not even from within Malaysia. (My father is in Malaysia). So I told my dad that it must be a fraud. Most probably the sender expects people to just call the number used for sending the sms. I had a feeling that this is one of those fraud numbers that would charge you a lot of money on your phone bill once you call them.

I believe there must be people who fell victim to this kind of scam. If this kind of scam happened in the US, the receiver can just report this number at reportphonenumbers.com, to share the number with other people who may have got the same sms.
